PRMC administrator receives nursing excellence award

A clinical coordinator at Plains Regional Medical Center received an award Oct. 25 from the New Mexico Center for Nursing Excellence, according to a press release from PRMC.

Kim Adams received the ambulatory nursing award, which is one of 24 awards given at the 2008 Nursing Excellence Awards in Albuquerque. She’s been a nurse for 13 years.

Franchise owner named to leadership group

Clovis Glass Doctor franchise owner Gene Porter was elected to the Glass Doctor Leadership Council at an Oct. 29 meeting in Waco, Texas, according to a company press release.

Porter has been a franchise owner for six years.

Leadership council members work with the corporate office to develop strategic plans and programs for the franchise system, according to the release.

Xcel Energy to boost electricity supply in five years

Xcel Energy officials are seeking bids for about 1,000 megawatts of electricity, according to a press release from the utility company.

Company officials plan to boost its energy supply in the next five years to provide electricity for anticipated growth in the eastern New Mexico and West Texas region, according to company spokesman Wes Reeves.
