School releases book fair figures

Cameo Elementary School’s fall book fair raised $2,885, according the school’s librarian Patricia Archibeque.

The school keeps 25 percent of the funds, which will be used to buy books for the library.

The remaining funds return to Scholastic Books, the sponsor of the fair.

Museum hosting Italian exhibit

The Museum of Texas Tech University will host “Painting the Italian Landscape: Views from the Uffizi” exhibit from Nov. 8 through Jan. 4.

The 45 works, ranging from the 1500s to the mid-20th century, illustrate the evolution of landscape painting in Italy.

The Uffizi is located in Florence, Italy, the city considered to be the birthplace of the Italian Renaissance.
