Samplings of recent calls received by Clovis-area law enforcement officers, according to reports:

About 4 p.m. Oct. 4 an officer responded to a residence in the 1000 block of Sunrise Street for an injured subject.

Officers learned a male subject had already been transported to the hospital by emergency medical responders.

A witness said the man he knew showed up at his house bleeding from a wound on his arm.

Officers went to the home of the injured man’s girlfriend and found a wet box cutter when they searched her.

She said the male came to her house and into her bedroom and cut her with the knife so she went to the kitchen and grabbed a box cutter. She said she couldn’t remember what happened after that.

The case was turned over to detectives.

About 9 p.m. Oct. 4 an officer responded to the 1100 block of Sycamore Street for a report of public affray.

The officer made contact with several juveniles.

One male juvenile had a bloody nose, a busted lip and the officer noted he smelled strongly of alcohol.

The 16-year-old said he gave an “old man” money to buy him a bottle of whiskey at a store and then drank the whole pint by himself.

The boy was issued a citation and taken home to his mother.

About 11 p.m. Oct. 4 an officer responded to a business in the 700 block of Prince Street for a public affray.

When the officer arrived the fight had ended and the crowd of juveniles was split into two groups.

A female juvenile was yelling racial comments and accusing a female in the other group of pulling her hair.

The officer arrested the 16-year-old for disorderly conduct.

Just before midnight Oct. 5 an officer responded to a business in the 2000 block of Seventh Street for a report of shoplifting.

A clerk said a teen male entered the store and grabbed two 18-packs of beer, then fled through the front door.

The clerks said he chased after the youth and as the suspect ran, his baggy pants fell down to his knees and a checkbook fell from his pocket.

The clerk said the suspect threw the beer in a waiting vehicle and sped away.

The clerk identified the suspect from an identification card found in the checkbook that was left on the ground.
