Portales man injured in accident

A Portales man was seriously injured in a one-vehicle rollover Tuesday morning in southeast of Portales.

Kyle Parrish, 25, was in the surgical intensive care unit at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock, a hospital spokeswoman said Wednesday night. She would not release information on Parrish’s condition.

Parrish drove into the ditch on Roosevelt Road 8 about 1.5 miles off N.M. 88 about 8 a.m. Tuesday and lost control of the 2001 Ford Ranger he was driving, according to Roosevelt County Chief Deputy Sheriff Malin Parker.

The vehicle overturned at least four times and Parrish was ejected, Parker said.

Parrish was taken by ambulance to Roosevelt General Hospital and later airlifted to a Lubbock hospital, according to Parker.
