Sept. 14, 2008 Cops and Courts

Clovis City Manager Joe Thomas hopes to name a police chief early this week.

Thomas said Friday he had conducted face-to-face interviews with three finalists for the position and could have a decision as early as Monday.

The selected candidate will be announced as soon as the position is offered and accepted, he said.

Thomas said he wants to review notes he took during the interviews before he makes a decision.

This week Thomas interviewed Jan Cary of Titusville, Fla., Interim Police Chief Mike Ingram, and Steve Sanders of Northglenn, Colo.

The three finalists were drawn from a pool of 29 applicants.
