Library Friends to meet Thursday
The Friends of the Portales Public Library will be holding a meeting to discuss the February 2009 digital television conversion. The discussion will take place noon Thursday in the Portales Public Library meeting.
The public is invited to attend this discussion at 218 South Ave. B. A question and answer session will be included in the agenda.
The Friends will be also be holding a brief business meeting.
Blood drive set at ENMU
The public is invited to donate blood from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday at the KENW-TV Broadcast Center. The blood donations will be held in Studio A of the broadcast center on the ENMU campus.
One must be in good health to donate blood. Donors will be given a free T-shirt.

Hestands host Good Neighbor Day
In collaboration with FTD Good Neighbor Day, Hestands Floral and Gifts will be giving Portales residents the opportunity to donate to the Community Services Center Food Pantry. The event will take place 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Wednesday. The ZTA sorority will be assisting in the event.
Each individual should bring three canned food items.
