Samplings of recent calls received by Clovis-area law enforcement officers, according to reports:

About 5 a.m. June 22 an officer responded to the emergency room at the hospital for a battery victim.

A man said he was sleeping on the couch at a residence in the 2000 block of Pile Street when he was awakened by someone hitting him in the head with what he thought was a metal pipe.

Another man said he witnessed a man hitting the victim and chased the suspect from the residence.

Police noted the victim had a large wound on the side of his head and was covered in blood.

Around 5:30 p.m. June 22 an officer responded to a business in the 2000 block of Prince Street for a theft report.

A security officer said sometime the night before someone stole the right windshield wiper from a security vehicle.

The wiper was valued around $50.

Around 8 a.m. June 23 an officer responded to a business in the 2000 block of Mabry drive for a possible abduction.

A woman said she saw a woman walking down the road in front of her house in the county and gave her a ride to Mabry Drive where she said knew someone.

The woman told her she had gotten lost in the county and her vehicle got stuck.

The woman said three men had stayed with her at her truck all night.

The man at the business said he had sold the woman a vehicle years before and believed he was the only person she knows in Clovis.

A social worker told police the woman appeared to be showing early signs of dementia.

Around 8 p.m. June 23 an officer responded to the area of Walnut and Fourth Street for a battery report.

A woman said she was standing with a friends next to her vehicle when a male she knows passed by and they started cursing at each other.

She said the suspect told her he was going to shoot her, went into a house and came back with a BB gun.

She said he shot at her and hit her car several times and one BB hit her in the ear.

About 9 p.m. June 23 an officer responded to a domestic dispute at an undisclosed location.

A woman said she and her boyfriend had been arguing because he wanted her to fix him dinner and she was busy taking care of the children.

She said he became angry and threw a bottle at her, striking and cutting the head of a child she was holding.

Officers noted the man was intoxicated.

The 20-year-old was arrested for child abuse, assault on a household member and minor allowing himself to be served.
