Samplings of recent calls received by Clovis-area law enforcement officers, according to reports:
About noon June 19 officers responded to a domestic dispute at an undisclosed address.
A woman said her former girlfriend came to her home because she wanted to get back together and they began arguing. She said when the woman refused to leave, she grabbed a can of spray starch and told her to get out.
The suspect grabbed the spray starch from her and ran out the door. A few seconds later the can was thrown through a window.
The woman said she didn’t want to press charges and just wanted the other woman to leave her alone.
The officer had her sign a criminal trespass notice and provided a copy to the other woman, advising her not to return to the property.

Around 4 p.m. June 19 officers responded to a home in the 1000 block of 10th Street for a domestic dispute.
A woman told officers her husband choked her, hit her in the face with his keys, and threw his beer on her because they didn’t have any money.
She said he had been angry about their financial situation all week.
The officer noted marks on the woman’s neck and face.
The man was arrested for battery on a household member.

Around 5 p.m. June 19 an officer responded to a vehicle crash at 14th and Mitchell streets.
A woman said she was heading westbound on 14th Street, following with traffic, when the vehicle in front of her slowed. She said she tried to brake but struck the vehicle.
The accident caused a chain reaction and two more vehicles were rear-ended at the intersection.
The woman driving the vehicle that started the crash was cited for following too close, no insurance and expired registration.

Around 7 p.m. June 19 an officer responded to a undisclosed residence for a battery in progress.
A woman said a man living with her brought home two bottles of alcohol. She said she told him she couldn’t have alcohol in the house because she is on probation and broke one bottle and poured the other out.
She said he got mad and punched her in the face.
Officers noted severe swelling under her eye and an inch-long cut on her face.
The man was arrested for aggravated battery on a household member.
