Samplings of recent calls received by Clovis-area law enforcement officers, according to reports:

Around 1 a.m. June 13 an officer responded to the emergency room at the hospital for a battery report.

A man said he was walking to his brother’s apartment in the 1000 block of Martin Luther King Boulevard when a man approached and asked for money.

The man said when he told him he didn’t have any money, the suspect hit him on the right side of his head.

When the victim started yelling, he said the suspect fled in a vehicle.

The officer documented injuries to the man’s eye.

Around 3 a.m. Saturday an officer responded to a home in the 200 block of Redwood for a robbery report.

A woman said she walking home from a party when a female who had been at the party followed her.

The suspect ran up behind her and grabbed her hair, punched her in the face, threatened her with a box cutter and demanded she give her all her money.

The victim said she momentarily escaped, and the suspect ran off when she knocked on the door of a nearby residence and threatened to call the police.

Around 6 p.m. Saturday an officer responded to a business in the 4000 block of Prince Street for found property.

An employee said he found a baggy of white powder on the floor.

The substance tested positive for cocaine and the officer took it into evidence.

The clerk called back about an hour later and said a customer returned and was looking around on the floor for something. When asked if he needed help, he said he lost his keys and left the store.
