Samplings of recent calls received by Clovis-area law enforcement officers, according to reports:

Around 8 p.m. Friday an officer responded to a residence in the 700 block of 13th Street for a report of a subject cut by a knife.

A female witness said there was an argument between two people in front of the residence and a man cut another man’s finger with a knife.

The injured man was transported to the hospital.

Police took information about the suspect from witnesses.

About 10:30 p.m. Friday an officer responded to the 500 block of Seventh Street for a noise complaint.

The caller said there were people in the apartment complex that didn’t live there and were being noisy and lying on her vehicle.

The officer made contact with the group and asked them to leave to avoid any problems.

When one woman wouldn’t respond to a command after she bumped into the shoulder of an officer, she was arrested after a short chase and charged with battery on a peace officer and resisting, evading or obstructing a peace officer.

Around midnight Saturday an officer was dispatched to a parking lot in the 500 block of Mitchell for an assault in progress.

A man said he had been cruising with some of his friends and when they pulled into the parking lot so he could get his vehicle. Another vehicle containing two males in it pulled up beside them.

One of the males pulled a gun so he said he took off running. Officers talked to the man’s friends. One of them had been struck in the head and arms with a baseball bat and was bleeding.

Around 2 a.m. Saturday officers were called to a residence in the area of Grand and Thornton for a fight in progress.

Residents said they were having a birthday party when three men they didn’t know showed up.

When the males were asked to leave, one of them pulled out a knife and chased family members around the yard.

One of the male family members said he grabbed the suspect and pushed him into a wall in an attempt to disarm him and received a cut to his finger.

The suspects fled the area.
