Samplings of recent calls received by Clovis-area law enforcement officers, according to reports:
Around 4 p.m. May 6 an officer responded to a battery call at an undisclosed residence.
A male juvenile said he was walking home from school and an adult male approached him and began cursing at him.
The youth said the man punched him in the eye, knocking him down.
The boy said he didn’t know the man, nor did his friend who witnessed the incident.
Police documented injuries to the boy’s eye.

About 7 p.m. May 6 an officer responded to an undisclosed residence for a report of found drug paraphernalia.
A man said he found a crack pipe in his girlfriend’s purse and a spoon in the trash.
The officer talked with the woman, who said she had used crack cocaine in the past week, but the items found in her purse belonged to someone else.
The officer arrested the woman on outstanding warrants. Residue from the pipe field tested positive for crack cocaine.
The officer is seeking warrants for possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia.

Around 7 p.m. Tuesday an officer responded to a home in the 300 block of Edwards for a domestic dispute.
A man said he had his grandchildren at his house so they could see their father.
The caller said when his son began acting “stupid” he said he was going to take the children home. He said his son threw a pot of chili against the wall.
The caller said when he returned to his house from taking his grandchildren home he found the windows on a vehicle he owns smashed with a brick.

Around 8 p.m. Wednesday an officer responded to the area of Fifth and Axtell streets for a fight in progress.
A man was holding his step-grandson down on the ground.
The boy’s father said his son had runaway and he had come to the area to find him. When he encountered the 14-year-old, he said the boy began fighting him and punched him in the eye.
The man said he didn’t want to press charges against his son for striking him but did want him arrested for an outstanding warrant for a parole violation.
The boy was taken to the juvenile detention center.
