Samplings of recent calls received by Clovis-area law enforcement officers, according to reports:

Around 9 a.m. Saturday an officer responded to the 1000 block of Oak Street for a recovered stolen vehicle.

A man said he had found a pickup truck that was stolen from his relative in Portales two days earlier.

The officer verified the vehicle was stolen. A handgun that was inside the truck at the time of the theft could not be located.

The truck owner’s dog, also in the truck at the time of the theft, was located hiding under a trailer at a nearby fire station.

About 2 a.m. Sunday officers responded to a business at 14th and Mitchell streets for a fight.

Officers saw a male suspect’s vehicle leaving and tried to stop it. The vehicle stopped around 14th and Rencher and the driver took off on foot.

After the officers caught him, they restrained the man’s feet because he was kicking at a patrol car window and pulled his shirt over his head because he kept spitting on them.

He was arrested for DWI, assault on a police officer and resisting, evading and obstructing an officer.

Around 11 a.m. Sunday an officer responded to a home in the 2000 block of Cesar Chavez Drive for a report of criminal damage.

A woman said around 4 a.m. somebody shot a bottle rocket through her bathroom window.

She said the firework caused a small fire on the floor.

Around 3:30 p.m. Sunday an officer responded to the emergency room at the hospital for a battery report.

A woman said she was jumped by two females she couldn’t identify in the 800 block of Stanton.

She had scratches and a small puncture wound on her leg, which the officer documented.

About 3:30 p.m. Sunday an officer responded to a park on Sycamore Street in reference to threats.

A female said she was approached by a man, who told her he wanted to have relations with her and then kill her.

She said the day before, the same male had swerved toward her and come close to hitting her with his vehicle as she was walking to a friend’s house.

Several witnesses gave similar accounts of the incidents.
