Two arrested in break-in case

A man and woman are in jail after they were caught breaking into a house Sunday evening, according to police reports.

Kateri Bardin, 26, and Jeremy McCloud, 28, were arrested after police caught them at a residence in the 800 block of 10th Street.

McCloud is being held on $10,500 bond and Bardin $14,500, jail officials said.

Bardin was caught outside the home around 5:30 p.m. after officers received information there was a breaking and entering in progress at that address, the report said.

McCloud, who was inside the house, surrendered when police announced they were sending in a K-9 unit to search, the report said.

McCloud and Bardin told police they were on the roof looking into the house when McCloud leaned on the window and it broke. They said they decided to go in and look around but police arrived before they could both enter the home, according to the report.

The owner told police the house is for sale and only had a few pieces of furniture in it, the report said.

McCloud was charged with breaking and entering, criminal damage under $1,000 and Bardin was charged as an accessory. Both had outstanding warrants as well.
