The following is a sampling of calls placed to Portales police dispatchers over the past two weeks. According to reports:

March 15

It was reported that four cows were running loose in the area of N.M. 2061, mile marker 81 at about 3:08 p.m.

March 16

A caller on North Houston Street stated a male was outside her house and trying to get inside around 4:45 a.m.

A caller stated that on South Ave. I, there was a male in a gray hoodie with a Virgin Mary on his back, with baggy shorts, who was trying to break into a cable box with pliers and a screwdriver at 12:31 a.m.

A caller said there were three juvenile males walking westbound, down 18th Street and Ave. I, pushing a Super Save cart. They thought the cart was stolen.

March 17

A caller requested a deputy as subjects were in his pasture stealing calves at 11:50 p.m.

A caller reported calves in the road near the intersection of South Roosevelt Roads U & T at 8:37 a.m.

March 18

A caller reported a strange odor around the Wylie Cox Drive area at about 11:55 a.m.

A caller reported a vehicle broken into and CDs stolen on N.M. 202 at 12:23 p.m.

March 19

A caller in the Virginia Estates area advised at 8:44 a.m. that her child would not go to school

A subject called an officer to South Pine Hills Road to complain about a school teacher at 9:33 a.m.

A caller on North Main Street called about 11:30 p.m. and stated that her husband had hit her and she hit him back and now she felt bad.

March 20

A caller reported cattle in her yard at 7:46 p.m. in the area of N.M. 202.

A caller on West 17th Street requested to talk to an officer in reference to a male who keeps asking her out for dinner and harassing her.

A caller wanted to report vandalism at the skate park on West 18th Street at 5:32 p.m.

A caller reported that guys tried to hit him with a crowbar on East Amazon Street around 8:12 p.m.

March 21

Graffiti was reported at 8:05 a.m. on the new equipment at a city park on 18th Street and Ave. I which had previously been wiped off. This time, threatening messages were left.

A subject requested assistance because a puppy had fallen into a hole.

A caller on N.M. 467 requested a deputy at 7:22 p.m., saying that a subject took a $400 deposit to hold a house for rent, but the subject rented the house to another person and will not give back the deposit.

A caller on West Second Street advised that two females in a Dodge vehicle were throwing cups of soda at her at 10:46 p.m.

March 22

A man on North Ave. A reported at 8:39 a.m. that he had just arrived home and someone had broken into his garage and a lot of items were missing.

A caller requested animal control officers on East Amazon at 2:16 p.m., because two pitbulls were loose and had chased her into a house.

March 23

A caller in the Morrel Street area reported at 8:09 a.m. that he was trying to keep about a dozen horses in a fence for his neighbor and he had not had any luck contacting the owner and needed help.

At 6:08 p.m. a caller stated that her neighbors had just shot her dog. The dog was shot while in the neighbor’s yard on Sandhill Road.

A caller reported at 6:09 p.m. that he had just shot his neighbor’s dog on his property and that the neighbors had fired multiple shots at his residence on Sandhill Road.

March 24

Callers reported at 1:06 p.m. their vehicle was struck by another as they were driving north on U.S. 70 to Curry County and were being chased by this vehicle and the vehicle had hit them several more times.

March 25

A caller reported at 5 p.m. that his house on South Ave. A was broken into while he was out of town.

A caller on North Chicago Avenue reported a gas skip at 8:14 a.m., saying that the owner of a vehicle did not return and pay for gas.

A caller advised that male subjects were possibly dumping dead calves on the side of the road.

A caller on West Ivy requested to speak to an officer in reference to a 13-year-old male who had beaten up her eight-year-old son.

A caller reported at 11:05 p.m. that 11 to 12 cars and one motorcycle were drag racing in the area of an elementary school on Globe Street.

A caller reported at 11:58 p.m. that several males were running from a store with alcohol on East Spruce Street.

March 26

A caller on U.S. 70 reported a stolen computer at 4:01 p.m.

A caller on South Ave. G advised at 4:17 p.m. that while out of town, a nephew let someone into the home and they stole furniture.

A caller advised at 9:51 p.m. that they heard three gunshots in the area of North Abilene.

A caller on West Ivy Street reported at 1:54 p.m. that two vehicles were chasing each other around the park.

March 27

A caller reported a car hauler trailer was missing on South Ave. C at 3:33 p.m.

At 8:14 p.m., a caller advised they were concerned about an individual at a bar he saw sniff a white substance and put the rest in his pocket.

A caller on East Ivy advised that there was a fight in the middle of the street at 10:27 p.m.
