Plateau approves education grant
The ENMR-Plateau Board of Directors recently approved a Public Safety Education Grant fund and a new Education Foundation School Grant program, according to a news release.
The Public Safety Education Grant can be used to assist with training costs for law enforcement, fire protection, emergency medical technician and paramedics in the ENMR-Plateau service area.
The Education Foundation School Grant can be used for projects to improve teaching and learning. Special consideration will be given to grant requests that propose the use of broadband Internet as a tool.

Local recognized for safety work
The New Mexico District Attorney’s Association has recognized Steve North with the 9th Judicial District Attorney’s office for his work with a local senior safety program, according to a press release from the district attorney’s office.
North was named employee of the year for 2007 for his work with the Newman Project in Curry and Roosevelt Counties, the release said.
