Trio Encantada, featuring Tracy Carr, oboe, Jeanie Wozencraft-Ornellas, lyric soprano and Mark Dal Porto, pianist and composer, presented a three-day residency at the New Mexico Military Institute in Roswell Feb. 25-27. The Trio presented masterclasses and clinics to choral, band, and humanities students. The Trio also performed a full-length recital in Pearson Auditorium.

Mark Dal Porto, associate professor of music, had his orchestral work titled Song of Eternity selected for a reading by the Santa Fe Community Orchestra. Music Director Oliver Prezant will conduct it at Stieren Hall at the Santa Fe Opera Theatre on Friday.

Tamara Raatz, associate professor of clarinet, has been invited to present a lecture recital for the upcoming international music conference titled Performing Romantic Music hosted by Durham University in the UK from July 10-13, 2008. The title of her recital presentation is The Hungarian Heritage and Foundation Found in the German School of Clarinet Playing during the Romantic Period and how this Influenced the Chamber Works for the Clarinet by Johannes Brahms.

ENMU’s Department of Music was represented at the Rio Grande District National Association of Teachers of Singing Competition in Albuquerque.
