The United Way of Eastern New Mexico is extending its campaign deadline to reach its campaign goal.
On Friday, the organization was about $24,000 short of reaching its goal of $565,000, according to executive director Erinn Burch said.
“We were trying to wrap it up by last Friday, but because we were so close, we’re going to keep going,” she said.
She said United Way workers will call people for donations.
“It’s mainly done person to person,” she said.
She said whatever the organization collects by the end of the week will be allocated for non-profit groups it funds in Curry and Roosevelt counties.
To make a contribution, call 769-2103.
