Pet of the day: Cocoa

January 19, 2008

Name: Cocoa

About: Cocoa is an adult Hog Island Boa. Hog Island Boas are extinct in the wild and only found in captivity. I have had her for about six years and she is around 7-feet long. She is very strong and generally sweet though she gets restless when it's time to eat and you have to be careful she doesn't mistake you for food when you put your hand in her cage. I call her a her but I don't really know if (it)is a she or a he because figuring out snake gender is kind of tricky. Since I don't plan to breed her I didn't bother checking, so she's a she to me.
