The following is a sampling of calls received by Portales police dispatchers over the past week. According to the reports:

Jan. 4

• At 4:20 p.m. deputies were called to an address on U.S. 70 to investigate a report of a possible sexual assault.

• At 8:39 p.m. a Clovis dispatcher reported an accident near the county line on U.S. 70.

Jan. 5

• At 1:21 p.m. fire units from Portales, Clovis, Dora, Arch and Texico responded to a hay fire on South Roosevelt Road A.

• At 6:55 p.m. a hit and run was reported by a caller on West 17th Lane.

Jan. 6.

• At 10:04 a.m. a hit and run was reported by a caller on East Spruce Street.

• At 7:23 p.m. police officers were called to investigate a report of shots being fired into a home on South Avenue E.

Monday

• At 7:21 p.m. a caller reported a home burglary. No address was listed.

• At 11:22 p.m. Portales Fire Department personnel were dispatched to a stove fire on West Fir.

• At 11:42 p.m. an auto burglary was reported. No address was listed.

Tuesday

• At 3:56 a.m. smoke was seen coming from a grain elevator structure on East Commercial. No fire was found. The smoke was apparently electrical, according to the report.
