Marion and Velma Owens of Lubbock celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary recently at the Lubbock Country Club.

The celebration was hosted by their daughter, Brenda (Randy) Burrell of Midland, Texas and their son, Bruce (Bunny) Owens of Lubbock, along with their grandchildren, Caleb Hartley, Katie Young, David Owens and Alex Owens.

The couple was married Dec. 28, 1957, in Portales.

They owned and operated Parkway Supermarket and Berkley Apartments while living in Portales.
