Samplings of recent reports filed by Clovis-area law enforcement officers:
Around 3 a.m. Nov. 6 an officer responded to a store in the 1000 block of Mitchell Street for a report of counterfeit money.
A clerk said a woman tried to pay for her drink with a $20 bill that was obviously fake.
The officer noted it was the second counterfeit $20 bill he had received in the last day. He collected surveillance footage of the woman.

About 8 a.m. Nov. 6 an officer was dispatched to a home in the 100 block of Columbia Lane for a student selling drugs.
The officer recognized the suspect as a student from the school nearby. The boy turned over two bags of marijuana in his pockets. The officer noted markings indicating distribution prices on the bags.
The officer also noted the residence is inside a school zone, near a school on Thornton Street.
The 17-year was arrested for trafficking a controlled substance in a drug free zone.

About 4 p.m. Nov. 7 an officer responded to a store in the 3000 block of Prince Street for a shoplifting call.
Employees said a man had stolen merchandise and he had also done it the night before.
The officer saw a box cutter in one of the suspect’s hands while they were talking and noticed he kept moving his hands toward his pockets.
The officer found merchandise in his pocket and arrested him.
The officer found additional merchandise in the suspect’s vehicle.
The value of the merchandise was more than $250.
