Police seeking assault suspect

Clovis Police are seeking a city man accused of shooting a gun into the air Saturday night during a domestic dispute, court records show.

A warrant was issued Monday for the arrest of Lucio Torres, 32, on four counts of aggravated assault against a household member, three counts of abuse or abandonment of a child, felon in possession of a firearm, and negligent use of a deadly weapon, records show.

A woman told police she and Torres were arguing in front of a residence in the 1600 block of East Second Street around 7 p.m. when the suspect pulled a gun out of his pants and started shooting into the air, according to the police report. Torres sped from the scene in his vehicle, the report said.

Officers collected six bullet casings from the driveway entrance, the report said.

Anyone with information on Torres’ whereabouts can call Curry County Crime Stoppers at 763-7000.
