• The Portales Junior High School cheerleaders brought home the first place trophy for their performance at the Eastern New Mexico Cheerleading Competition. Team members Brandi Amundson and Donna Rogers were selected as “Shining Stars” during the competition.
• A one pound box of Zesta crackers was on sale at Parkway Supermarket for 98 cents a box.
