Zias absorb setback at Northeastern State

TAHLEQUAH, Okla. — Dani Watson scored from inside the box in the 25th minute, and the Northeastern State RiverHawks made it stand up for a 1-0 victory over Eastern New Mexico University on Friday in Lone Star Conference women’s soccer.

ENMU sophomore Samantha Lawrence had a streak of five consecutive matches with a goal come to an end. The Zias (8-4, 2-2 LSC) were outshot 17-13 by Northeastern (5-6, 3-1), including 4-3 on goal.

ENMU returns to action on Sunday in an 11 a.m. (MDT) conference matchup against East Central in Ada, Okla.
