• Absentee voting for the November General Election began in the Roosevelt County Clerk’s office.
• Eastern New Mexico University Friends of Eastern Foundation announced that they would be presenting the 1988 Distinguished Emeritus Faculty award to Dr. Gordon Thomas of Portales.
