Clovis MainStreet wins award

Clovis MainStreet was recognized by New Mexico MainStreet at its annual award ceremony for its efforts in historic preservation and downtown revitalization, according to a news release from the New Mexico Economic Development Department.

Clovis MainStreet received the Lt. Gov. Diane Denish Award in Partnership. According to Clovis MainStreet Executive Director Robyne Beaubien, the honor recognized the local group’s community partnerships. She said they included its wine and cheese gala held in conjunction with the kickoff of Clovis Community College’s cultural arts series, and Downtown Pride Award with the Clovis News Journal.

The Excellence in Fund-raising Award was shared by Clovis MainStreet with Silver City MainStreet. Beaubien said the award recognized Clovis’ new marketing materials for its corporate campaign.

Clovis MainStreet and Portales MainStreet each honored one of its community’s citizens for work with the organizations. New Mexico MainStreet Community Awards went to the city of Clovis’ community relations director, Claire Burroughs, and Portales Mayor Orlando Ortega Jr.
