Serving Clovis, Portales and the Surrounding Communities
• Seven-year-old Shawn Burrow won the booster division of the Shepherd and Sheep in Wool Lead Class, while 11-year-old Toni Clark won the junior division, and 16-year-old Janet Baker won the senior division. The competition was held during the Roosevelt County Fair.
• John Travolta and Nancy Allen starred in Blow Out, playing at the Varsity Drive - In Theatre.
• Fifteen members of the Dora High School class of 1971 ten year reunion. There were 21 total class members in the class.
