Job: Receptionist at Fitness and More Gym and server at Pizza Hut.
Time on the Job: Three weeks at Fitness and More, and one week at Pizza Hut, though she previously worked at Pizza Hut for nine months before starting back to work for them again.
Q. Describe what your job entails?
A. At Fitness and More, I make sure everybody is happy and comfortable and answer the phone. At Pizza Hut, I make sure customers are happy and get what they ordered. I just try to make people’s day.
Q. What is a typical day on the job like for you?
A. At Fitness and More, I check the gym to see if everything is OK and running right, and clean what needs to be cleaned. At Pizza Hut, I serve people their pizza and make sure they are happy.
Q. Why did you choose these jobs?
A. I had gastric bypass surgery and this job (at Fitness and More) offers free membership and a chance to workout to keep the weight off and pays good. At Pizza Hut, just to have a little extra cash and I enjoy my co-workers.
Q. What type of training, if any, do you need for your jobs?
A. Here, (Fitness and More) you don’t really need any training, you just have to have a good attitude and basic knowledge of answering phones. At Pizza Hut, you have to be nice to people, give them what they need and want, you have to have a lot of training.
Q. What do you enjoy most about your jobs?
A. Here (Fitness and More) the people that come in and work out are nice and the free membership and tanning. All my co-workers are really nice and my boss is awesome. At Pizza Hut, my co-workers are awesome and I like being under the stress of a fast-paced environment and I have a great boss.
