Samplings of recent calls received by Clovis-area law enforcement officers, according to reports:

Around 11 a.m. July 23 an officer responded to a residence in the 200 block of Aspen for a report of narcotics. Another officer reported seeing two juveniles smoking blunts with marijuana in them. The boys, 14 and 15, admitted they had been smoking marijuana, were issued citations and released to the custody of their families.

About noon July 23 an officer responded to a business in the 800 block of Prince for a report of criminal damage. The owner said she discovered the power cord to the video surveillance system had been cut and attempts were made to pry the door open. She told the officer she could not find evidence anyone gained entry to the building.

Around 3 p.m. July 23 an officer responded to a domestic disturbance at a home in the 1900 block of Chapparal. A man told the officer a woman that had been staying with he and his mother had gotten into an argument with his mother.

He said the woman then came outside, threatened him with a knife and chased him down the street. He said she then got into her car and left. The officer recovered the knife from the kitchen of the home. Officers were unable to locate the woman.

About 10 p.m. July 23 an officer responded to a call of a woman running up Calhoun Street yelling for police. The woman told the officer she had been stabbed on the side of her left breast.

She said she was at a party but she didn’t know where, nor did she know the people who were there. She said a fight broke out and she felt some thing stick her breast. She showed the officers a laceration approximately one inch in length. The officers were unable to determine where the woman was when the incident occurred.

Around 9:30 a.m. July 24 an officer responded to a business in the 2200 block of Main Street for a report of indecent exposure. A manager told the officer a man had been coming in and exposing himself to the clerks. He said he would walk up to the registers with his pants unzipped and his genitals exposed. The manager also said sometimes the man would rub up against the clerks. It had just happened again the day before, he said. The officer made arrangements to interview the clerks.

Around 2 p.m. an officer was given a report of credit card fraud at the police department. A man told the officer he discovered almost $300 in charges to Internet pornography sites on his bank card statement. He said he didn’t know who made the charges on his account and needed a report for his bank.

About 4 p.m. July 24 an officer conducted a traffic stop on a speeding vehicle in the area of Thirteenth and Merriweather Streets, The officer noted the driver and passenger appeared very nervous and asked for consent to search the vehicle. He found a bag of marijuana on the floorboard and the passenger indicated the driver had dropped the bag there. The officer issued the driver a citation for possession of marijuana.

Around 7:30 p.m. Wednesday an officer responded to a report of battery at a home in the 300 block of Echols Street. A woman told the officer her 29-year-old son had punched her grandson in the eye. She said she was baby-sitting and heard the child cry out and found her son standing over him with hands clenched.

The officer noted the boy’s eye was swelling shut and bruising. The woman told the officer her son has mental health issues and frequently has outbursts of anger. The man was taken to jail and booked for battery on a household member.
