Clovis man dies in cycle crash

A 41-year-old Clovis man died early Sunday morning when the motorcycle he was riding hit a utility pole at Second and Norris streets.

Bruce Monroe died at the scene, officials said.

A police press release said Monroe was not wearing a helmet and “alcohol is suspected of being a factor due to the odor of alcohol being present on his body.”

Toxicology results are pending, the press release said.
