PLAINVIEW, Texas — Brandon Gilliard and Josh Burrell pitched Clovis to a pair of wins Tuesday in a summer league doubleheader at Plainview.
The left-hander Gilliard allowed five hits, struck out eight and walked one as Clovis beat error-prone Plainview 13-3 in the opener in a game shortened by the 10-run rule.
Jordan Jacobs had a pair of hits for Clovis.
Burrell allowed six hits, struck out three and walked one in five innings of Clovis’ 4-2 win in a weather-shortened second game.
Parker Wood went for 2-for-3 with a run-scoring triple for Clovis.
