Two arrested on drug charges

Portales Police arrested two Portales residents Wednesday on charges of trafficking cocaine in connection with a seizure made last week, according to a Portales Police Department news release.

Adrieanna Queen, 21, is free after posting a $50,000 bond. She was charged with one count of trafficking cocaine.

Francisco Eric Ornelas, 20, remains in the Roosevelt County Detention Center with a bond amount of $50,000. He is also charged with one count of trafficking cocaine.

Police seized over 9 ounces of cocaine on June 12 at a residence located at 1213 1/2 N. Ave. M. According to police spokesman, Capt. Lonnie Berry the drugs have an estimated street value of $27,000.

Queen and Ornelas, who live at the residence, were not home when police raided the place and seized the drugs. Warrants were issued for their arrest and the pair turned themselves in to police Wednesday.

Berry said information in the case developed about a month ago but investigation and informants brought the investigation to a head last week.
