Police seize cocaine

Portales Police seized cocaine with a street value of more than $27,000 Tuesday from a city residence.
Acting on a search warrant, police found more than nine ounces of cocaine inside a residence at 1213 N. Ave. M.
The occupants of the house were not home at the time,, according to a news release.
According to Capt. Lonnie Berry, spokesperson for the Portales Police Department, arrests warrants had been issued for suspects in the case and the police department had been in contact with attorneys representing the individuals.
Berry said information in the case first developed about a month ago, but information from informants and other sources brought the case together this week.
