• “Play Dirty” starring Michael Caine, was showing at the Tower. Admission prices were $1.00 for adults, 75 cents for students and 40 cents for children.

• Wiley Cox, well known for his barbed wire collection, added the crowning specimen to his collection. The short length of “Rod Wire”, was manufactured around 1857 in Holly Springs, Miss. and is the first barbed wire ever manufactured.

• A 16 ounce can of Aqua Net hairspray was on sale for 59 cents at B&J Drug Co.
