Man arrested on fourth DWI charge

A 46-year-old Clovis man remains in jail after his arrest Tuesday on charges of his fourth DWI, according to police reports.

Jeffery Jowdry is being held on a $21,000 bond, according to jail officials.

Police found Jowdry in the driver’s seat of a vehicle with the engine running at a gas station in the 1500 block of Mabry Drive around 3:30 p.m. after being called for a report of a male who seemed intoxicated and was urinating by the building.

When Jowdry opened the vehicle door to talk, the officer noted a strong odor of alcohol, the report said.

The officer administered field sobriety tests and stated in his report Jowdry struggled with the tests, exhibiting signs of intoxication and then refused to do any more.

Jowdry was taken to the hospital for a blood alcohol test and then booked at the Curry County Adult Detention Center, charged with driving while intoxicated, fourth offense, and driving on a suspended or revoked drivers license, the report said.

Dispatch discovered Jowdry was wanted on an outstanding warrant from Otero County.
