A car stolen from the Cooper-Hobbs shop early Monday was found abandoned near Morton, Texas late yesterday, Sheriff Glen Widener said today. Another car was reported stolen in Morton, and the sheriff says the chances are good that the two felons who escaped from the Roosevelt county jail took the second car. The sheriff is confident that ultimately the tow men, Carl George Davis and William Jacobs, will be arrested and brought back to Portales.
