Religion digest: Handbell solo

Kathie Fink, handbell soloist, will perform a concert at 7 p.m. Tuesday at First United Methodist Church.

Fink will present “Legacy,” a solo handbell concert and tribute to her father, Larry Fink Sr. and the Fink Family Handbell Ringers.

She will be accompanied on the piano by her sister-in-law, Sharon Fink. The free concert will include television clips of the Fink family.

Fink is a founding member of the Sonos Handbell Ensemble in the San Francisco Bay area.

Church hosts singer, speaker

Russ Murphy will perform a concert at 6 p.m. March 4 at First Assembly of God church in Muleshoe, Texas.

Murphy wrote the song, “Welcome Home, Soldier,” which has been played on radio stations across the United States.

Following the concert, Texas Tech athletes will give personal testimony. A pizza dinner will follow the service.

Church celebrates centennial

The House Baptist Church is hosting a centennial roundup March 18 at the church.

The celebration will begin at 9:30 a.m. with coffee. A 10 a.m. worship service will follow. The afternoon service will be held at 2 p.m., followed by a concert by Nashville recording artist, Mary Joye.

Church officials said the event is a time for friends and family to come together for a day of remembering the good times and celebrate their rich heritage.

Pastor releases single recording

Jack Stone, pastor of First Assembly of God in Muleshoe, Texas, has released a single recording entitled, “Jesus is Enough.”

Stone said the CD is scheduled to be released in March. The song, which was recorded by Stone in Clovis, was written by Russ Murphy, who wrote the number one song “Welcome Home, Soldier.”

Stone said he is excited for the release. “The words are just awesome,” he said, “and this song just fits me.”
