Long Bell Lumber Co. (telephone number 15) pledged to provide its customers with quality lumber and “sound business counsel.” … Miller-Nash Motor Co. of Clovis reported tractor use was rapidly increasing across the nation – from 132,000 produced in 1919 to an estimated 315,000 in 1920. … Clovis Police Chief Dick Moye was being credited with “astute detective work” that led to the arrest of a forgery suspect. The Clovis Journal reported the man was accused of writing $143 in worthless checks.
