ARTESIA — Clovis High’s girls finished second while the boys finished third on Thursday in the Artesia Invitational swimming meet, a makeup of Saturday’s snowout.

Hobbs won both divisions in the five-school event, scoring 187 points to 144 for CHS in girls competition and 171 points to 132 for Carlsbad and 90 for Clovis on the boys’ side.

Amber Espinoza won a pair of individual events and helped the 400 freestyle relay team to victory to pace the Lady Wildcats.

Meantime, for the boys, Miles Ware won the 50-yard freestyle and placed second in the 100 backstroke.
