James M. Rodin of the Kendall Dry Goods Co. returned to Clovis from markets in the eastern United States. He said he encountered snow in every city he visited on a three-week trip to purchase spring and summer goods. … Rev. J.F. Nix was about to celebrate his second year as pastor at Clovis’ Baptist church. Nearly 400 members had been added to the church under Nix’s leadership “and many times it is difficult to seat the people,” The Clovis Journal reported. … Clayton Reed was planning to auction 19 “high grade Jersey cows, which are of my own raising.” The auctioneer was Vernon Tate.
