The January dress sale at Mandell’s included bolero and two-piece styles in Copenhagen blue and five other colors for $16.85 each. … Clovis’ DeMolay chapter officers included Chick Taylor, Roy Walker and Gordon Fitzhugh. … The Kiwanis Club program was “thrown into an uproar of laughter when Kid Porter, Harry Love and Bob Anthony appeared in costumes of follies girls,” according to a report in “The Clovis News.” … City officials were warning dog owners that the 1927 dog tax was due by Feb. 1. Dogs not wearing proof that the tax had been paid would be “disposed of according to law by the city pound man,” a newspaper notice reported.
