A recent vaccination and spay/neuter clinic benefited two local non-profit organizations.

Veterinarian Jack Murphy donated 10 percent of the proceeds from the clinics held in August to the Lighthouse Mission and the Matt 25 Hope Center, he said. Each organization received a check for $157.

“I’ve been here (Clovis) for 35 years,” Murphy said, “It was time for me to give back.”

More than 25 small animals were sterilized and 100 received vaccinations, he said.

Murphy said he chose the two Christian-based organizations because he believes in what they are doing.

“It’s always nice to receive money from people without asking,” Lighthouse Mission co-director Richard Gomez said.

Matt 25 representative Terry Osborne said the donation meant “one more partnership with people in our community.”
