Eagles trade for wide receiver

The Associated Press

PHILADELPHIA — The Philadelphia Eagles acquired wide receiver Donte Stallworth from the New Orleans Saints.

The Eagles sent veteran linebacker Mark Simoneau and a conditional fourth-round draft pick in 2007 to the Saints, according to the team’s Web site. The trade is pending both players passing physicals with their new team.

Stallworth, the 13th overall pick in the 2002 draft, had 70 receptions for 945 yards and seven touchdowns last season.

Clovis High grad Hank Baskett III has been starting throughout the preseason for the Eagles at wide receiver.

The site did not report what Stallworth’s arrival would mean for Baskett’s position on the Eagle depth chart.
