Jones, Margaret “Peggy”

Margaret “Peggy” Jones, 88, of Clovis died Saturday, May 27, 2006, at her home.

She was born Dec. 21, 1917, to Frederick and Edith Greaves in Buxton, England. She married Eddie Jones and moved to Post, Texas, in 1946. They moved to Clovis in 1947 and operated House of Color Paint Store until his death in 1959. In 1960, she became an employee of McDaniel’s Furniture as a bookkeeper. She also worked for Stagner Builders.

She was a member of Episcopal Church.

Family members said she loved working as a Pink Lady at Plains Regional Medical Center. She was named Outstanding Auxilian of the Year in 2004 for the state of New Mexico. Family members said she enjoyed cooking, reading, watching tennis and traveling when time allowed.

She is survived by a niece, Judy Pease (and husband, Ken) and their children, Nickolas and Katie, all of Cheshire, England; and two nephews, Colin and Tony Greaves of England.

The Rev. Herbert Bergstrom will officiate.

Cremation has taken place.
