Two Clovis residents were crowned Saturday at the Holiday Inn during the Miss Rodeo New Mexico pageant coronation.

Ashlee Stallings, 21, triumphed over two other young women from New Mexico to be named Miss Rodeo New Mexico. Stallings is the daughter of Clayton and Kathy Stallings. She is a senior at Eastern New Mexico University majoring in speech communications.

Kyla Myers, 9, was crowned Little Miss Rodeo New Mexico. Kyla competed against four other girls ages 8 through 11. The daughter of Kevin and Lexie Myers, she is a fifth-grade honor roll student at Barry Elementary School.

The pageant winners will promote the sport of rodeo throughout New Mexico during their reigns. Stallings will also travel to Las Vegas, Nev., in 2007 to compete in the Miss Rodeo America Pageant.
