McDonald, William

William (Bill) McDonald, 91, of Clovis died Thursday, May 25, 2006, in Clovis.

He was born Nov. 22, 1914, in Bovina.

Family members said he served God in faith and actions. He served as a deacon for more than 50 years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, traveling and reading, family members said. Examples of his woodworking talents are scattered across the nation, they said, and he always worked the crossword puzzles in ink. He also enjoyed friends, cherished family, honored his country and loved God above all, family members said.

Survivors include his wife, Fay; two daughters, Mary Kay (and husband, Paul Shelton) of Edmonds, Wash., and Karen (Ron Stith) of Las Cruces; two grandchildren, Julie Stith and Joe Stith; three great-grandchildren, Cole, Dale and Holly; a brother, Jack McDonald of Denver; and many nieces and nephews.

The Rev. Joel Horne officiated with the assistance of Terry Townsend.

Pallbearers were Mary Kay McDonald-Shelton, Julie Stith, Joe Stith, Dudley Self, Paul Shelton, Jim Thompson and Dilynn Thompson.
