5/7 Court dispositions

The following criminal dispositions were recently filed in the 9th Judicial District Court:

• Aaron Tanner, 34, pleaded guilty to theft and fraudulent use of a credit card, evidence tampering, issuing a worthless check valued at more than $25 (two counts) and forgery. He will serve 18 months in prison, followed by five years supervised probation, with credit for 18 months imprisonment, and ordered to pay fines and fees.

• Eugenia Smith, 35, pleaded guilty to possession of drug paraphernalia and was sentenced to one year less one day imprisonment, with credit for 197 days, and ordered to pay fines and fees.

• Mark Madrid, 23, pleaded guilty to second-degree murder, aggravated battery and evidence tampering. He was sentenced to 15 years imprisonment, with credit for two years, 10 months and 27 days served.

• Antonio Sena, 20, pleaded guilty to criminal trespass and resisting, evading or obstructing an officer. He was sentenced to one year less one day in prison, followed by one year less one day supervised probation, and ordered to pay fines and fees.

• Byron Logan, 24, pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and a felon possessing a firearm. He was sentenced to 16 years in prison.

• Lisa Velasquez, 36, pleaded guilty to fraudulent credit card use. Adjudged to be a habitual offender, she was sentenced to three years imprisonment followed by three years of supervised probation, and to pay fines and fees. She will receive credit for two years, four months and 11 days on her sentence.

• Shandy Petner, 27, pleaded no contest to unlawful selling, disposal or possessing of a dangerous drug and sentenced to one year imprisonment, with credit for one year, two months and 12 days served. He was ordered to pay fines and fees.

• Samuel Offutt, 34, pleaded no contest to reckless driving and was ordered to pay fines and fees.

• Samuel Perez, 21, pleaded guilty to attempted false imprisonment and battery against a household member. He was sentenced to imprisonment of one year less one day, followed by one year less one day supervised probation, with credit for credit for one year less one day served. He was ordered to pay fines and fees.

• Robert Mowles, 37, pleaded guilty to prohibited distribution of a controlled or counterfeit substance. He was sentenced to three years in prison followed by three years supervised probation, with credit for three years. He was ordered to pay fines and fees.

• Alex Costa, 21, pleaded guilty to possessing marijuana (between 1 oz. and 8 oz.) and paraphernalia. He was sentenced to one year less one day imprisonment followed by one year less one day supervised probation, with his sentence of imprisonment suspended. He was ordered to pay fines and fees.

• Mary Sena, 24, pleaded guilty to driving under the influence of liquor or drugs (first offense). She was sentenced to 90 days imprisonment followed by six months supervised probation, with credit for 90 days, and ordered to pay fines and fees.

• Donald Jones, 25, pleaded guilty to assaulting a peace officer, shoplifting (less than $100) and disorderly conduct. He was sentenced to one year less one day imprisonment followed by one year less one day supervised probation, and ordered to pay fines and fees.

• Samuel Perez, 21, pleaded guilty to aggravated DWI (first offense), resisting, evading or obstructing an officer, and negligent use of a deadly weapon. He was sentenced to 90 days imprisonment followed by one year supervised probation, with credit for 90 days against his sentence. He was ordered to have an ignition interlock device placed on any car he may drive, and to pay fines and fees.
