Fugitive escapes PRMC on bike in hospital gown

A 29-year-old Clovis man wanted on a bench warrant was arrested Thursday after he fled Plains Regional Medical Center wearing a hospital gown and boxer shorts, according to police.

Alfred Sena was located by police about 20 minutes later pedaling a small, light blue girl’s bicycle on Dartmouth Street.

A bench warrant was issued for Sena Wednesday when he failed to appear at a hearing in District Court on charges of receiving or transferring a stolen motor vehicle.

He was charged Thursday with petty larceny for the theft of the little girl’s bike, according to the report.

Officers were unable to locate the owner of the bike to return it.

ENMU African-American Affairs host concert

African-American Affairs at Eastern New Mexico University is sponsoring a Gospel Concert at 7 p.m. on today in the Campus Union Ballroom.

Acts include the ENMU Gospel Ensemble and David Dawson, First Church of God in Christ, New Light Missionary Baptist Church.

Admission is free and refreshments will be served.

Angel food distribution postponed in area

Food distribution for Angel Food Ministries scheduled for today Portales and Clovis has been postponed due to transportation problems with their truck in Georgia, according to Melissa Lamb, coordinator of the Portales distribution.

Organizers plan to reschedule distributions in each community as soon as the truck arrives. They ask that anyone who placed an order call between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. today for information. In Portales call 607-5405 and Clovis call 760-7479.
