Wildcats 10th at Roswell

ROSWELL —Clovis senior Jordan Moore and Clovis Christian senior Mollie Peterson each finished fifth Tuesday in the Roswell Spring Invitational golf tournament.

Moore shot a second-round 77 at Spring River Golf Course and finished nine strokes behind winner Michael Adams of Alamogordo.

Tyler Fontenot shot Clovis’ best round of the day with a 78 — matching Monday’s score — as Clovis finished 10th with a two-day score of 644.

Artesia won the tournament by 10 strokes with a 610.

In the girls tournament, Clovis finished tied for eighth with Artesia.

Brianne Bracken shot an 86 and Tiffany Reid added a 93 as Clovis shaved 41 strokes off its first-round scored the New Mexico Military Institute Golf Course.

Peterson followed her first round 86 with an 87 as the Lady Eagles finished 12th.

Roswell Goddard beat Hobbs by 25 strokes for the team title.
