Sandoval, Ruben

Ruben Sandoval, 70, formerly of Clovis, died Sunday, March 19, 2006, in Las Vegas, N.M.

Born May 8, 1935, in Watrous to Gabriel and Ramona Rael Sandoval, he grew up in Clovis and served in the U.S. Army. He worked as a policeman for the city of Clovis, starting as a rookie and working his way up to captain, retiring in 1987.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Joan Lucero and Anita Powell, and two brothers, Antonio Sandoval and Jose “Pepe” Sandoval.

He is survived by two sons, Ruben R. Sandoval (and wife, Lena) and Joseph Sandoval, of Clovis; three daughters, Frances Gallegos (Manuel) of Clovis, Janice Fornadel (Jerry) of Albuquerque, and Madeline LaPlante (Thomas) of Clovis; his former wife, Terry Bonney; seven grandchildren, Joseph Gallegos, Ashlea, Ruben and Erica Sandoval, Autumn and Everett LaPlante and Maria Correa; three great-grandchildren, Adriana Sandoval, Elijah Correa and Joshua Correa.

Father Sotero Sena will officiate services. Respects may be paid by visiting the family at 3000 La Luz in Clovis.
